Educational Programmes

educational programmes

The Trust runs informal and semi-informal environmental educational sessions in the form of holiday activities and children’s parties and is developing educational packages for schools to promote awareness and understanding of environmental issues from an early age.  In addition, the Trust runs environmental sessions in schools, to enable children to match the theoretical principles learnt in the classroom to practical applications.

Case Study 1 – Wildlife Boxes with Aldermoore Farm School

The Living Environment Trust is launching a new range of educational activities for school children, in order to link the theoretical principles learnt in the classroom to practical applications.

Accordingly, the Trust is running more and more sessions in local schools, such as the ones carried out at Aldermoore Farm School, which involved children from two classes to build different wildlife boxes, including ladybird/bee box and bird boxes, and to place them in their school grounds.

Case Study 2 – Birds of Prey at Foleshill Children’s Centre

The Living Environment Trust seeks to introduce children of all ages to the natural environment, in order to promote understanding and appreciation of environmental issues. Accordingly, the Trust runs a wide range of environmental sessions for schools and children’s institutions, such as the sessions run for Foleshill Children’s Centre, where children had the chance to fly three different birds of prey in a secure environment, whilst also learning interesting facts about these fascinating birds.

Case Study 3 – Children’s Parties

The Living Environment Trust believes that children birthday parties can be a very effective way to introduce young children to the natural environment, in order to promote respect and appreciation of the environment itself.

Accordingly, the Trust runs a variety of themed environmental parties that have proved very popular, as children learn about the surrounding environment whilst having fun!
