| Climbing Club |
| |
| The Climbing Club is open to all and takes place on Wednesdays from
6.00-7.30pm. The Club mainly involves an introduction to climbing, but also
allows access to high ropes, low ropes and abseiling areas. |
| |
| Climbing courses take place on our specially designed 40ft high climbing
wall, which has 18 different climbing levels. In this session you are
introduced to basics of setting-up and climbing. Over time, you are
introduced to abseiling off a 35ft high platform.
|
| |
| The High Ropes course has 3 distinct elements; |
| 1. Trapeze Jump - Climb up a 35ft high pole then jump and catch the
adjustable trapeze.
|
| 2. Postmans Walk - walk across two poles, set-up horizontally, one above the other. |
| 3. Jacobs Ladder - this exercise involves 6 or 7 horizontal poles attached
to cables in a ladder formation. The objective is, with the help of two
others, to climb the ladder, however the higher you reach the wider the
spanse becomes between the horizontal poles.
|
| |
| The Low Ropes course involves a metal structure, with 6 platforms, set about
2ft above the ground. The objective is to progress around the platforms
using a single rope between to the next platform. With the challenge being
that all 8 members of your team swing across to the same platform and stay
on it. |
