Coventry Sports Foundation offers indoor and outdoor football pitches at Xcel Leisure Centre and The Alan Higgs Centre.
You can hire any of our football pitches on a 'pay and play' basis and also secure regular block bookings for hire for social games, team training, or tournaments. Each centre offers individual team changing rooms, refreshment / bar facilities and function rooms for presentation evenings.
The Alan Higgs Centre offers unique indoor and outdoor third-generation (3G) synthetic turf pitches and one outdoor grass pitch.
The full indoor 3G pitch is 60m x 40m in size and can be split into either half pitches or quarter pitches ideal for 5-a-side matches. The 3G pitches look and feel just like grass and are designed to absorb impact, making it easier on your joints. They are also used by many professional football clubs in the Premier League at their training facilities and are used by the Coventry City Football Club Academy as their training base.
The Xcel Leisure Centre offers two outdoor 5-a-side floodlit astro turf pitches and one indoor 5-a-side pitch.

Temporary Swimming Pool
Xcel Leisure Centre
From 30th August for 8-12 weeks
Unavoidable maintenance work has been scheduled to take place in the swimming pool at the Xcel Leisure Centre as from 30th August.
The work is expected to take between 8 – 12 weeks to complete. However, the Foundation has commissioned the installation of a state-of-the-art 25 metre pool at the rear of the building to ensure continuity in the swimming programme. In addition to the changing facilities that will be available within the newly constructed pool hall, the existing health suite and changing / shower areas will remain open.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused, although we expect the pool programming to continue as usual. Please enquire at reception for further details.

Exercise Studio closure Afecting Zumba and Energise and Tone classes

That the studio will be unavailable from 12am Saturday on 13th November and from 10am on Sunday 14th November.
This will affect 12am Zumba on Saturday 13 November and Energise and Tone on the Sunday 14 November. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Halloween Zumbathon
The Alan HIggs Centre
Come and dance to the traditional cumbian, salsa, samba and merengue music. Come along and learn some new dance steps to the pulsating Latin rythms of Zumba!

Rotary Disabled Sports Team Championship
Xcel Leisure Centre
An annual event for athletes from all over England who have a wide range of disabilities. Last year over 250 athletes took part! This event will take place on Saturday 13 November and Sunday 14 November 2010.
